Terms of Use

Every good party has a few house rules, and so does this magazine. Reading the magazine means you agree to them. We kept the wording plain on purpose, yet every line here still counts.

What the pages are for

Jane Eyre Entertainment Hub writes about evenings at home, films, games, gatherings, household comfort, travel, food and the odd business subject. Each article offers general background to help you think a question through. None of it is tailored to your living room, your devices, your budget or your circumstances, so please do not treat it as personal advice.

Check before you act

  • Your device's manual and safety leaflet outrank any set-up or cleaning tip printed here.
  • Jobs involving mains electrics, gas, structure or plumbing belong with qualified tradespeople wherever rules or good sense say so.
  • Questions about law, money, insurance or health deserve an answer from someone properly qualified.
  • Prices, terms and conditions should be confirmed with the business itself before you pay or book.

We put real care into every page, yet some details may be incomplete, dated or wrong for your case. As far as the law allows, the magazine accepts no liability for any loss that follows from relying on what it publishes.

Businesses and outside links

Some pieces name or link to companies, products or other websites because they belong to the topic. Naming something is neither a recommendation nor a promise about it. We have no control over outside pages, their content or how reliably they stay online, and any deal you strike with a third party is a matter between the two of you.

Watching and playing fairly

Whenever an article covers television, streaming, films or games, it assumes licensed services and legal use. Please keep to the terms of the services you pay for and respect the rights of the people who create what you enjoy.

Our words and pictures

The articles, page design and graphics on this site are ours or used with permission. Linking to any page is always fine, and so is quoting a sentence or two alongside a link to the source. Lifting entire articles, reposting them on another site or feeding them into automated content systems needs our written consent first.

Fair use of the site

Please leave the site's machinery alone: no hacking attempts, no floods of bot traffic and nothing unlawful.

When we get it wrong

Think a page contains an error or has gone stale? Getting It Right explains what happens to your report. Fixing a mistake matters more to us than defending it.

Your data

Personal data has its own page: Privacy & Data.

Updates

We may revise these rules now and then. Whatever version appears on this page when you read it is the binding one. If any part leaves you puzzled, ask us through Say Hello.
